The concept of mounting machinery on epoxy chocks was developed in the late 1950s, when the need arose
for a convenient way of filling the spaces between the steel chocks of deck winches.
After several deck winches had successfully been mounted in this manner, the next logical step was to
install marine diesel engines on all-epoxy chocks.
